Modern decorating tips for my living room?? What should I change? Pics included?

What are some LITTLE things I can do with this room that will give it the modern classy feel i'm looking for? What can I take away? Buy and add? Pillows? PS: I can't change the color of the walls--(landlord says) and I can't get rid of the couches or tables (brand new--would be a shame. )Please help, all you decorating gurus out there! I want people to walk in and be impressed! Feel free to include links of products I can buy online too. Thanks.
